Achieving Quality and Durability
At the time of the project, the most commonly used product on the market was polycarbonate, which is unfortunately known for its degradation. The material only has a life span of seven years, acquires dirt easily, and promises a list of safety issues. This prompted us to think bigger: could we create a skylight that is long, thin, and modular? Could skylights be joined together to create an infinite look and infinite possibilities?
Introducing the Energilite Striplite
The unique challenge resulted in a first-of-its-kind solution: a striplite, otherwise known as modular light, made from glass joined together to form a never-ending beam of light. The outstanding success of the 18000mm x 550mm skylight made glass the future of skylight technology because it is easy to clean and safe to walk on. Atlite’s Energilite Striplite innovation has since brought ample opportunities for projects in other schools and has transformed the industry.
